Chicane 2 turns vocabulary into a circuit you actually want to run. Choose a language, open a deck, and let timed recall carry the words from "familiar" to "yours" — one clean lap at a time.
Every part of the app exists to remove friction between you and the next word you need to remember — no clutter, no scattered tabs, no lost progress.
Pick a language the way you'd pick a track: deliberately. Every deck starts from a clear choice, not a default you forgot you made.
Open a deck and you're already studying. No loading screens between you and the words, no menus standing in the way of the session.
The session holds its rhythm from first card to last, so meaning, memory, and repetition line up instead of fighting each other.
Difficulty ramps the way a good circuit does — easy opening laps, sharper turns later, small wins the whole way through.
This is spaced repetition, laid out as a circuit. Each checkpoint is a scheduled review — further apart every time a word holds. Run the lap to see how one card moves through the schedule.
Checkpoints mark Day 1, 3, 7, 16, and 35 — the moments a word is due for another pass before memory lets it go.
We're a small team that got tired of watching vocabulary apps turn into another feed to scroll past. Chicane 2 started from one question: what if remembering a word felt less like homework and more like nailing a line through a tight corner — deliberate, satisfying, repeatable?
Our mission is simple: strip away the noise around language learning — the tabs, the notifications, the half-finished decks — and leave only the part that actually works. Pick a language, open a deck, and stay in the moment until the words start to hold.
What the app gives you is timing done right. Words come back exactly when your memory is about to let them go, not a day too early or a week too late. Each pass sharpens the connection a little more, so recall stops feeling like guessing and starts feeling like knowing.
π Learn it once. Keep it forever — one clean lap at a time.
Chicane 2: Active Recall was built on a simple rule: your study data belongs on your device, not on ours. We don't collect it, we don't store it remotely, and we don't transmit it anywhere. Everything — your decks, your languages, your review history — stays on the phone or computer you're using.
We collect nothing. There's no account to create, no name or email to hand over, no location data requested, and no analytics running in the background. The words you add, the languages you choose, and the decks you build are never sent to us — they're written directly to storage on your own device.
Since nothing is collected, nothing is used, analyzed, or sold. Every feature — deck creation, spaced-repetition scheduling, progress tracking, session summaries — runs entirely on-device, using only the processing power of your own hardware.
All app data — vocabulary lists, review intervals, streaks, and settings — is stored locally in the app's private storage on your device. There is no cloud sync, no remote database, and no server that ever sees your content. If you never back up your device, your data exists in exactly one place: your device.
Chicane 2 does not integrate third-party analytics, advertising networks, or tracking SDKs of any kind. No external service is called to log your activity, measure your engagement, or profile your behavior. The app works the same whether or not you have an internet connection.
Because your information never leaves your device, there is no transmission to intercept and no remote database to breach. Security here means minimizing exposure: we simply don't create a channel through which your data could travel off-device in the first place.
Chicane 2 does not knowingly or unknowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since no data collection occurs for any user, the app is compliant with COPPA by design rather than by policy.
You are always in full control of your data. There are no accounts to manage and no backups sitting on a server, so deleting the app removes your data completely and permanently. Nothing persists anywhere else.
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect new features or clarify existing practices. Any changes will be posted here with a revised effective date at the top of the page.
